DCC appoints Colin Sempill as interim CEO

The Data Communications Company has announced today that Colin Sempill will be joining us as interim Chief Executive Officer.

After nearly 8 years in the role, Angus Flett announced in June that he would be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer at the DCC, and our Board began the recruitment process to secure an interim leader.

Today, Richard McCarthy, Chairman of the DCC Board, confirmed the appointment of Colin. Richard said, “I am delighted to announce that Colin Sempill has been appointed as interim CEO, starting formally on Monday 2 September. Colin will be meeting with Angus and the Management Team in the coming weeks as part of the handover plan."

Richard added: "Colin has a very strong background in telecommunications as CEO of NEOS networks, formerly owned by SSE, prior to which he was the SSE Enterprise Telecomms Managing Director. A qualified accountant with previous transformation and strategy roles with Accenture and EY, he is ideally placed to lead the DCC during the interim period.”
